Last month we introduced new OvidSP Search tabs and Search Aid refinement tools—features of the new platform that aid in the initial stages of a search. But what users do with their search results is equally critical to the research discovery process. We know that users have their own preferences on how they like to conduct their work.

So how will OvidSP deliver greater flexibility and speed to search results management?

• Relevancy-ranked results – All results are automatically returned by relevancy, whether you’re searching in Basic Search, Search Tools, or any other search mode. The most relevant results appear at the top.
• Flexible results sorting – Use a simple drop-down menu at the top of the results page to re-sort by author, abstract, unique identifier, or other fields.
• Inline abstracts – Now, citation abstracts appear on the same page as your results! Expand or collapse abstracts for easy viewing.
• Annotations – Create, view, and edit notes as you search. Annotations are marked by easily identifiable yellow icons.
• New location of the Results Manager – Now displayed on the left side of the screen for easier access as you conduct your work.
• De-duplication of multi-file results - Repetitive results are automatically eliminated when searching multiple databases.
• Results display – You can change the number of results displayed (the platform defaults to 10 per page).
