Dear Ovid Customer:
We’ve already told you about OvidSP’s clean, contemporary, intuitive interface, as well as the platform’s Search tabs, which allow all types of users—from beginners to the more advanced—to search content via their preferred search mode. So what happens after they’ve performed their initial search?
OvidSP’s Search Aid feature is a powerful, flexible search refinement tool that delivers greater analysis and organization for your relevancy-ranked search results. Prominently displayed in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, Search Aid lets you:
- Follow the research trail – We know that search transparency is critical to the research process. Learn exactly how OvidSP performed your search—review search terms you’ve chosen, as well as synonyms and spelling variants the platform incorporated into the search.
- Narrow or broaden search queries – Pinpoint your search further by subject, author, or journal title. Need more options? Broaden a search with additional search terms.
- Search related authors and journals – Get suggestions that are based on the frequency with which each author and journal appears in your search results.
“The interface looks good-very clear!” – Hospital Librarian
